Hi Steph!

Won't you mind telling us more about your stuff in AIOIA?

- Hi Kuja and friends bloggers.
In AIOIA, my job is mainly the music itself, trying to keep up musicaly creative, on being as close as possible with the former idea and the line of the project, as it had been concieved and established with Alex Vicq (author & lyricist) at our first encounter, a pop-electro-progressive music, that would be able to emphasize the lyrics and the linking stories. So that I can say that I'm working like at the soundtrack of a movie.

What is your main mindstream in arranging and composing?

- Since AIOIA is mostly a kinda unified field between a lyricist and a musician, I'm enjoying a great freedom to make the decision towards pop music and to choose several great talented artists like Kinnie, Natalia, Lori, Gisel, Gisel or C-leen as lead vocals or/and backing vocals of my GAA songs.
On the CD1 (UMMO UXA), Nadj M'rini Hendrix's awesome voice help me compose some more progressive and ethnic, either, musical lanscapes. From time to time, I sing by myslef on exploring lower vibrations, that are uneasy to visit by female voices.
Concerning the use of instruments, I have two opportunities: playing all the musical instruments or programming as I did on the CD1, "Ummo Uxa", to obtain a music that is mainly an electro-progressive one.
When I want to compose mor rocky or metal style songs, I work with Dji's guitars, ans when I'm looking for something more "roots", O dhose to work with Didier's bass and Christian's drums.
As a result, I feel greatly free in making my stuff. What kind of a producer would allow me to work freely with so many artists?

By the way, I guess your further question, Kuja: what about AIOIA on stage?
On stage, we'll keep going on with a small band (3 members), as poly-instrumentists as possible and lightly modified arranging. This is precisely what I have rather: an always moving music.

What are you trying to express with your music?

- Emotion. Mainly.

When you reveive the lyrics from Alex, is there any former musical option to follow or do you trust in your own feeling to make a musical adaptation of his writings?

- Oh it's far more simple than that. When he listens my music or when I read his lyrics, we're always surfing the same vibes and we work in the AIOIA way of mind.

While we're talking about this, do you prefer composing after reading the lyrics or composing on the basis of your own feeling?

- I can enjoy both. All along the AIOIA story, everything is going very well with Alex.

It appears that there were some interesting line-up derivations between the first and the second albums. What does it mean actually?

- We're going on with new tracks. Three of them can already be lisened to on Facebook in their rough version, lol. I wish I could complete a third album and have rehearsals with a band in the aim of new performances on stage.

What are the most difficult obstacles, today, that could work again the release of a third album?

- A lack in money, not directly for the third album, but rather for the preparation of something great on stage and furthermore, preparing a Live DVD, giggs and so on.

In such a field like the AIOIA's one, I assume that you have been inspired by some great bands, would you name a few of them?

- I do like Franck Zappa, Miles Davis, Portishead, Pink Floyd very much, plus lots of others tha I have forgotten. Nevertheless, I have been inspired by these artists, this is obvious.

Idéalement, avec qui te verrais-tu partager l'affiche?
Who do you dream of to sharing the show?
- "E.T." of course (Lol)

By the way, have you already a few shows in sight?

- As soon as I get enough bucks, I publish the dates.

And right now, as to be kind with our bloggers, could you let us dicover a new track or a "fall" from a former album?

- I'm afraid I have to say "no", my friend, not yet ;)

Hi user of the Internet 2.0!

As it has been said in Steph's interview (you'll get it soon), AIOIA need some money to make their third album. So we decided to use this blog to help bring the band up to a higher financial level.

Don't be afraid! We don't want you to give us your money! All you'll have to do is to download the first album. It's free, don't worry! A little add will pop up : wait for 15 seconds or just click on the "skip this add" link.

If you download this full CD with the following link you'll help the band on two different ways :

On the first hand, you can broadcast this album and have AIOIA known by everyone, worldwide.

One the other hand, you'll give some money to the band, without spending yours.

So if you like AIOIA and can't wait for a third album, just donwload right here!

Download Ummo Uxa.

Have a good day and a nice listen!

So, here we come with a track from the first album (UMMO UXA) : The Enoch Syndrom.

Nadj M'Rini Hendriks : lead vocal

Stephane Sarrazin    : compo arr all instrument

Alex Vicq                : Lyrics

THE ENOCH SYNDROM

I love your hands on me
You make me melt so softly
I live your alien dream
Stay on the beam
I’m going up with your stream
You make me melt so softly
I love my child in you
You’re coming from a star
At the gate of Ishtar
The hard word is a kiss
I love
I love my child in you
I got love on your ace
Divine light on your face
Make me feel in good grace
I love the way your scent
Intrudes upon my sleep
Oh kiss me so deep
Stay on the move
I feel we’ve no time to lose
We’ve no time to lose
I love my child in you
Cosmic wings over you
I can see blue eyes too
I love
I love my child in you
My child in you
I love my child in you
I feel your child in me
Growing up as a tree
A mangrove in the sea
I feel your child in me
Will you take him with you
Far away, far out?
I love my child in you
You’re coming from a star
At the gate of Ishtar
The hard word is a kiss, babe

If you want to read only the english articles, just click on the « english » link, at your right.

So here comes a little presentation of AIOIA, hope you'll enjoy it :

AIOIA is one of the most innovative bands to emerge from France in recent years. Mixing a vast variety of genres from rock and metal, to ambient and classical, the result is genre-defying. The lyrical themes take the shape and structure of an opera, and upon employing some of the most talented vocal talents in the country, assisted by experimental melodies, the AIOIA project has truly taken form as one of the most interesting and instantly recognisable bands on the music scene today.

http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/7/l_6ab1256607b045438d6ed8c6588c4a98.jpg

What began as an alcohol-fuelled idea, formed by a group of songwriters, composers and scientists became a strong musical force, as members dedicated their time and talent to producing one of the most engaging debuts. The result, an 11-track CD titled Ummo Uxa began the journey of AIOIA, and inspired them to further their music, developing their sound and perfecting their composition skills before unleashing their latest production, the stunning follow up, Gaa.

With tours planned and a future looking bright, AIOIA are only opening the doors to what the future might hold. With some of the most captivating soundscapes this side of Faithless and Portishead, and the vocal talents to compliment is, the future is an unknown venture that is likely to see AIOIA become the most experimental, interesting export France has ever produced.

Now that the presentation is done, let's answer an important question : Why the heck is there a blog?

Well, the blog is here to answer a simple wish, make a community around the band, and its so amazing universe.

Here, you'll find out all you ever wondered to know about AIOIA. Anecdots around the band, brand new songs...all you want. Come more and more to get exclusivity about the band!

We'll try to organize some talks with band's members from time to time. But we'll talk about that later.

Now just relax and do as if you were at home.

Oh lord, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Kujafilth, i'll be your contact here, but not the only one.

See you soon!
